I'm not dead yet.

I was in high school and in theater (tech theater), and right around my senior year Wicked the musical came out. I was the only kid I knew who read the book. I wasn't proud of this- of knowing something before my friends or knowing more about it- because I wasn't really interested in musicals unless it was the tech side, and I only happened upon Wicked the book randomly. I can't even remember watching the Wizard of Oz straight through. I was in an airport and between Wicked and the two other books I was choosing from, Wicked was the biggest book for the least amount of money. Haha! Anyways, I brought that up because when it came out many kids I knew were excited about it, and many were adopting "Defy Gravity" as their little slogan (which mostly amounted to putting in your AIM profile in some combination of font and colors). I had seen Spamalot with Teeney (one of my only lasting friends from high school) and much preferred "I'm not dead yet!!" but this wasn't as immediately recognizable as Wicked's tags. I thought it was much more realistic.

I know I've been completely absent for months; I didn't mean to be one of those who starts and then just stops and doesn't care. I really meant to try with this blog! At some point I plan to personalize it a little more (the background and header and such). For now I'm just typing. I even typed a few posts without being able to post them. I've been out of the country in Thailand and Laos where my internet was spotty; then I came back here but the internet hadn't been paid in two months. I've finally got it reset and now I'm going to Vietnam tomorrow.

I'm also going back to the USA. In March- not very soon- but I'm not staying as long as planned (which was next October, or possibly forever!) I am not very happy here and I want to go back to school. I know, my posts will be a lot less interesting, but I don't make my life choices according to how much I can show it off to other people (I know people like this. Nothing wrong with them- they have very interesting stories to tell you when you first meet them but I imagine they do not make for very lasting friends). So I'll be writing a lot about applying and what I'm running into. I'm in a bit of a crunch time wise but I'll do my best.

Also I'll finally spread the word I have a blog. Haha!
